Description: Pimeleas are evergreens, native to Australia. This one is rich green, dense, rounded and covered with magenta to pink terminal flower heads from early spring to autumn. Its leaves are small, oval, opposite and packed in four ranks around the stem. It is a very colourful shrub and easily maintained if the position is right.
Soil and Conditions: A light shaded position. Well drained composted acid gardens soils are preferable.
Uses: For mass plantings; for its colour; singly in the shrubbery; as a low border or a rockery subject; as a pot plant in containers.
Care: Trim just behind the flowered part of the plant immediately after flowering. Fertilise in spring with slow release fertiliser for native plants or blood and bone.
