A densely-branched, scrambling coastal shrub that grows up to 1.5m height by 2m wide.

Dark green succulent leaves and small flowers followed by dark red berries. Happy in a well drained sunny site. Resistant to salt spray. 

 The edible berries are a red colour when mature. The leaves can be boiled as a vegetable. The raw leaves are salty. Blanched leaves taste better and steamed leaves are more tender.
