Banksia marginata

This shrub or small tree has a long flowering period and dense foliage. Its leaf backs have a silvery white colour that gives the plant a silvery appearance. The yellow flowers open from greenish buds and are arranged in brush-like spikes. It is an excellent choice for screening and attracts native birds to the garden. It can grow in a variety of soils and is tolerant of some shade, windy conditions, coastal areas, and salt spray. If needed, trim back after flowering.
