An Australia native tall shrub or small tree with narrow, dark green leaves and golden, cylindrical flowers with prominent red styles. Spot Flowering may occur throughout the year. Useful screening or hedge plant. The flowers attract nectar feeding birds and make an ideal cut flower. Grow in an open position in well drained soil. Tolerates lime and light frost. prune after flowering to maintain compact growth. in spring, apply low-phosphorus fertiliser and mulch well.
