Bulbine bulbosa 'Native Leek'
Native Leek (also known as bulbine lily, wild onion and golden lily) is an attractive perennial producing edible seeds, roots and below-ground corms that are a tasty bushfood in Wurundjeri culture. You’ll find this native vegetable in dry sclerophyll forests, Red Gum woodlands, and grasslands, as well as in swamps and bogs across temperate Australia: central Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, eastern South Australia, and Tasmania. A native alternative to daffodils. Grows in all Australian climates, and suits a variety of soils. Can withstand frost. This lily is great for rockeries, borders, containers, and planting in pots. Looks amazing planted in large clumps and mass planted. Suitable for gaps.
