large, red, open blooms, attractively streaked with white, are produced mid season on a medium sized, upright shrub. Large, evergreen shrub with attractive, glossy, dark green, thick foliage. Position in morning sun or part shade. Shelter from the hot afternoon sun and wind. Can be planted under large trees. Dense shade restricts restricts flowers. Well drained, slightly acidic soil. Before planting combine soil with organic matter for best results. Keep moist in hot dry weather, mulch well. Avoid lime.
