Chrysocephalum apiculatum 'Sun Buttons'

A selected hardier form of a Chryslocephalum apiculatum which suckers and produces an abundance of dainty, bright golden button flowers in clusters above fine grey/green foliage from late summer and again in early spring. Forms a thick mound that is useful in rockery plantings and can be used along pathways to create a colourful low level border. This plant naturally rejuvenates itself and rain

Grows best in full sun and will tolerate part shade. it is adaptable to most well drained soils and requires summer watering when conditions are very dry; will tolerate light frost.

it is best to initially feed with slow release, low phosphorus fertiliser to help establish the plant. It is beneficial to follow up with the occasional reapplication of fertiliser and apply as required. Mulching around the base of the plant will help retain moisture and suppress weeds. This plant requires little maintenance other than the removal of spent flowers.
