Miniature, clump-forming, grass-like plant with glossy, dark green foliage that offsets spikes of lilac flowers, followed by blue-black berries. Neat garden edging. Ideal as a ground cover, especially beneath standard shrubs or topiaries. Does best in fertile, well-drained soils. Some protection from harsh winds is beneficial.
