Rubus Loganobaccus 'Loganberry' 14cm
Large aromatic berries which are particularly good for jams, pies and other desserts. Fruit flavour is distinctive and sharp.
The plant itself is a trailing vine producing red-purple berries up to 3cm long. They are though to be a hybrid between and American Raspberry and a Blackberry. Fruit ripens in December and is best picked every 4-5 days.
Prefers a well drained, organic rich soil in full sun. Protection from severe frost is recommended.
Trim back new spring shoots around 20-30cm to encourage branching. The resulting canes will be thinner and more numerous, making then easier to train on wires the following season. Provide horizontal wires at 60cm and 120cm for training vines along. Fertilise during Autumn.
