Salvia x superba

Merleau Rose has a compact, dense flowering habit, and blooms for many months. Plant in a sunny position in normal garden soil that is not wet. Ideal in the front of a bed or as a border plant. Merleau Rose looks great in large groups mixed with other perennials such as Scabiosa, Penstemon and Nepeta. Well suited for pot culture.

Cut back at the end of summer to produce an autumn flush of flowers. Cut back again during winter to ready the plant for fresh spring growth.

Grows best in a sunny position in well drained soil and will tolerate considerable cold and dryness. Use scattered through a small perennial garden or as a loose border plant.
