Warringal greens is a popular spinach replacement that can be used in salads and other cooking. The leaves contain high levels of oxalates, witch can be harmful if eaten in large quantities. However, blanching will easily remove oxalates, making the suitable for consumption. Tolerates saline soils and winds, making it a great option for coastal areas. Even as a perennial, it may have a shorter life in cold climates dying back in winter. However, it readily self-seeds and grows well from cuttings.
